New York University's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences and its institutional partners - Stanford University, MIT, and the University of California, Berkeley - have each received a $500,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to study the "learning algorithm of the brain." The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety in Northern Ireland will implement an integrated solution for managing radiology information and images (RIS/PACS) provided by the Swedish IT and medical-technology company Sectra through a ten-year agreement. The solution will be used throughout the entire public healthcare system in Northern Ireland. The contract is valued at GBP 30 million and represents Sectra's largest order to date.
